Bulgaria
With an abundance of natural resources, and a largely unexplored food scene - Bulgaria is a hidden gem in Eastern Europe. Join Courtney as she forages for mushrooms in the stunning Rhodope Mountains, attends a village festival celebrating the countries’ exquisite rose oil, and compares traditional Bulgarian cuisine with the countries’ emerging food scene.
Italy
Courtney meets a lemon farmer whose family has been growing on the rugged cliffs of the Amalfi Coast for generations, visits the three Michelin star restaurant La Caravella, and later harvests San Marzano tomatoes from the base of Mount Vesuvius.
Croatia
Whether it’s growing acres of hemp, producing award winning olive oil, or gifting the forest with rare white truffles - the fertile soil of Croatia produces some of the finest products in the world. Courtney meets with a professional truffle hunter in Istria, visits an award-winning olive oil producer Terra Rosa, and learns about hemp production in Virovitica.
Turkey
The gateway to the middle-east. Our time in Turkey begins with exploring one of the world's best regions for cultivating tea. Then, we travel to Istanbul to enjoy the traditional meze food culture and lastly experience the phenomenon of WWOOFing (Willing Workers on Organic Farms).
Israel
Israel, a country that is a leader in agricultural technology. Courtney visits a unique rooftop farm in Tel Aviv, explores a research facility that cultivates crops in the Ramat Negev desert, and spotlights two agro-tech companies.
Spain
Courtney explores some of the richest food traditions. Starting in the north, we get a sneak peak into the Michelin star rated restaurant, Mugaritz. We learn about producing one leg of Iberico Jamôn and finally we visit a permaculture retreat center.
France
Courtney explores Farm-To-Table cuisine at La Chassagnette. We travel to the tiny town of Esplette where Courtney learns about the special pepper that bears the towns' namesake. And finally, we dive deeper into the controversial making of foie gras.
